I have learned that no matter how much you care, you cannot make the choice to grow up and take life seriously for somebody. They have to do it for themselves. So I stepped back a bit and let A make her own path. I still talk to her, but my heart is just so saddened by the fact that she has no idea what she is about to experience and really doesn't care.
In the meantime, my middle sister gave birth to her third child and my youngest sister announced her very first pregnancy. So while I'm down about A, I have been focusing on helping my own sisters. My sister, Hannah, is due in August and is having a girl. I have been helping her find websites that are helpful, taking her to register for her shower and answering questions. I love this mommy mentoring when I feel like the mommy is focused on the baby and not just herself.
I know that I probably have a less than great attitude about it all, but I put so much time and energy into helping people that it hurts to feel like it is all in vain. On a brighter note, I have decided to make this website a place for all women who wish to reach out and help those who are expecting. If anyone would like to become a mommy mentor, please email me at kadirprescott@hotmail.com.
